Originally built in the Edwardian era and opened as a bank. In 1937 Mr Alan Hadley bought the building in order to open it as a fish restaurant/boarding house. With great success, it has stayed in the family ever since.

We are situated in the heart of whitby town centre. A stones throw away from idyllic beaches, the famous historic Whitby abbey and a taste of the best fish and chips in Whitby, Hadley’s of course. We offer four clean & cosy Double en-suite guest rooms, all fitted with modern bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffee making equipment.

Dear guests, We are delighted to announce the reopening of Cobbleview rooms from the 4th July 2020. Our main priority from the reopening is that our guests can stay with us and not only enjoy their stay but feel safe whilst doing so. We have stepped up additional precautionary measures to ensure guest’s and staff’s safety is a priority.

A few of them I would like to highlight below:

  • We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment in accordance to the government guidelines.
  • All staff members will wear gloves and face masks for cleaning of the rooms, disposing of gloves safely after each room has been cleaned and wearing new gloves per room to avoid cross contamination.
  • All doors and window will be opened during cleaning to provide adequate ventilation.
  • Each room will be fully cleaned before starting on the next room to avoid cross contamination.
  • Disinfectant will be sprayed on all touch points surfaces and appliances and left for the recommended time to kill any bacteria.
  • Each room will be thoroughly deep cleaned to an even higher standard than usual. So please be patience if your room is available to check in a little later than usual. We will try to have every room ready before 2pm.
  • All touch points in communal areas will be disinfected several time’s a day.
  • We will be encouraging contactless check in to keep contact to a minimum - all keys and key boxes will be disinfected prior to visit.
  • We will encourage guests to use the hand sanitiser provided in the entrance and hallways.
  • We will encourage guests to follow the governments social distancing advise.
  • We will encourage all payments to be prepaid by card to avoid any contact with cash.
  • We will no longer be servicing rooms to keep contact to a minimum. We will stock your room with a sufficient amount of tea, milk, toilet roll etc for your stay. If you wish for a top up, you can contact us on the contact mobile number provided. We will then leave what you require outside your room.
  • We will provide a bin in the entrance for you to dispose of any rubbish during your stay which will be emptied and disinfected every day.
  • If you require Fresh towels, these will be available daily by request and left outside your room.
  • We will ask guests to confirm they are fit, well and displaying no symptoms of COVID-19 on the day of check in.
  • All un-essential items, such as decorative items will be removed from the rooms.
  • Towels and linen will be washed at 90•c

All of these are pre-cautionary methods advised by the government. We look forward to welcoming you back in the safest way possible.
